Are you ready for something small, fun and furry in your family? No, we’re not talking about a set of furry slippers, but we are talking about the cuddly Puggle. What’s a Puggle you ask? It is one of the most interesting and loving puppies you can find in the world today.

A puggle is a high bred “designer” dog that has quickly become the most popular of dogs in the “designer” class. When you do a search on Google you will find thousands of pages that will tell you anything you want to know about this precious puppy.

Puggles are a cross between a beagle and a pug and they have been bred in the United States. Although they are not a recognized breed yet the purebred of this hybrid is considered to be a dog that has a pure bred beagle mother and a pure bred pug father. By bringing these two breeds together, you have several characteristics from both dogs. Puggles love affection and they have a calm temperament which makes them an ideal puppy for children and other pets in the home. They are small enough to carry around and to sit you your lap.

Puggle Puppies have the wrinkled faces of the pug and droopy ears of the beagle. They also have short hair so they require little grooming. They also tend to be short and stocky in appearance. As puppies, they tend to be fast, want to play a lot and have incredible energy. They are also very intelligent and prone to mischief so you want to train them right from the start.

If you are convinced that you want to find a puggle puppy to bring into your family, there are several ways to do it. Check with your local animal shelter. They often have dogs come in that other people have left for adoption and they may have just the puppy you want. If they don’t have one right away, they may save your name on a list until one comes in.

Some people find them in pet stores, but you may not know what you are getting if you go there. Also, they are generally much higher in price than buying from a breeder. If you want to purchase puggle puppies from a breeder, make sure the breeder is reputable, and ask about the genetic history which a reputable breeder will be able to tell. You will pay between $250 to about $750 if you purchase one from a breeder.

Remember though that puggles are dogs and they will have doggie behavior. Some will howl like the beagle and some will bark quietly. They each have their own personality and they will adapt their style to most environments.

Puggle puppies can make the best friends and you can even dress them up. They don’t care what you do as long as you treat them well, give them plenty of exercise and hug them a lot everyday.

A dog is a member of your family that needs its own space.  Whether you have a puppy or and older dog, they will need a place where they can retreat to take a nap, sleep or just relax after a long day of activities.

Many people purchase dog beds to keep the dog off of the furniture.  When a dog knows they have their own comfortable space, they will usually stay there rather than getting on your furniture.

Dog beds come in a variety of styles and configurations and it is up to you to pick the right one for your dog.  Some of the styles you will find include dog couches, the traditional round beds, and donut style and pillbox versions.

A dog bed should be comfortable for your dog and give good support to their bodies.  You will have to remember that your dog is a dog.  Many beds look fancy and are supposed to get the owner’s attention but, provide little benefit to the dog.  Looks are nice but, not always important when it comes to your dog’s comfort.  If you have an older dog you may want to look at orthopedic style dog beds for the proper support for aching bones and joints.

When looking for a dog bed there are several factors to consider.

1.      Size- You will want to measure your dog while they are resting to get an idea of the proper size bed where they will be comfortable.  Your vet can also provide you with guidelines for sizing.

2.      Space- you will need to find a space for the bed.  Preferably, this space should be out of high traffic areas but, close enough to everyone else so they don’t feel left out.  You will also have to measure this space to make sure it will fit the bed size you need.

3.      Health- Take your dog’s health into consideration.  If you have a young dog or a puppy you don’t have to worry so much but, if you have an older dog you may want to see which beds give the most support.

4.      Maintenance- The dog’s bed is where a lot of self cleaning and chewing will happen.  For this reason you will want to make sure the bed is easily kept clean and washable or has replaceable covers.

Follow these tips and you should be very successful in finding a great bed for you dog.

Dog beds are in different size as the dogs are different. There are suitable for small Chihuahuas which are so tiny that they can sit on your palm. Big dogs require more consideration what dog bed to purchase. Of course everybody understands the bigger the dog is the larger bed he needs. But it is not very clear exactly how big.

To define your choice of dog bed you need to know what your dog’s size will be when he is  grown and its sleeping style- for example if he sleeps stretched out you will need bigger bed than if he is curled up in a ball.

Big dogs like Great Danes limit the available spaces to them for sleeping.They will not feel comfortably into a small bathroom. And of course it is no matter of fact that not many people want to share a bed with them.

Like so many other things, the rigging of a saddle is where it is today through evolution. The cowboy had a “working” saddle that did a little of everything on the ranch such as gathering cattle, rescuing cattle, breaking horses, etc. Different saddle types require different “rigging” for each specific use. The term “rigging” is used to refer to how the cinch strap attaches to the saddle to hold the saddle in place. The rigging hardware can be done with several different options. If you’re buying a quality saddle don’t worry too much about O-rings, D-rings or plates. Sit in the saddle and see if it’s comfortable and then decide if seven-eights or whatever is right for you.

There are basically two types of rigging: conventional in tree rigging and inskirt rigging. Conventional rigging places the bulk of the cinch strap under the rider’s leg. Inskirt rigging is just as secure. With it, the rigging hardware is built directly onto the saddle skirt, either built directly on the skirt or for extra security, built “in” the skirt, where the rigging is attached to an extra metal plate between two layers of leather on the skirt. Some will tell you they think the “in-tree” rigging is the stronger of the two, but both are proven sturdy.

The next differences in rigging are the “Single” or “Double” styles. In Single rigging the flank strap is not used. Instead, the rigging hugs the saddle toward a center point. Double rigging includes both the cinch and the flank strap. The double rigging is especially necessary with roping or any other event that may cause the saddle to want to tilt upwards. Double rigging adds stability for riding in very rough country with ups and downs. Otherwise, the back cinch is, according to some, just another piece of leather to worry about, so they will prefer single rigging.

The Position of the rigging on most saddles is dependant on what the saddle is being used for. Three-way rigging allows you the option of choosing a full double rig; 7/8 double rig; or 3/4 double rig. Rigging that sits under the mid-section of the saddle is called a “centerfire” rigging. Each position toward the horn is given a defferent measurement: 5/8, 3/4, or 7/8.

Most details of your saddle are all personal preference and the rigging is not different. Each detail depends on the use of the saddle and personal preference.
